The Nuclear Cardiology department offers a wide spectrum of non-invasive tests for diagnostic and prognostic evaluation of patients with cardiovascular diseases. The department is equipped with a state of the art dual head dedicated cardiac SPECT Gamma camera system (Cardio MD III). The facility is fully licensed and minitored by Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority (PNRA). The department performs more than 70 myocardial perfusion scans per month, using both physical and pharmacological stress techniques. For myocrdial perfusion imaging (MPI), the nuclear laboratory uses Tc-99m MIBI. We perform stress and resting nuclear imaging for evaluation of coronary blood flow, myocardial function, and myocardial viability in patients with coronary artery disease and other cardiac conditions. In addition all necessary requirements for MPI like an ETT machine and radiation protection/ safety equipment are also at hand.
